What is your favorite Christmas gift? A Flexible Flyer sled from Santa.
What is your best memory of Christmas? My daughter's eyes every Christmas, I think. She is always a bit nervous about going downstairs to see what the Big Guy did. She lets me scoop her up, and her eyes open into big brown pools as she takes it all in from a distance before she steps into the sea of paper and tinsel. Then, there is the hunt for the special blue stocking ornament that Santa takes from the tree and hides with a special treat. Two memories tied for first place.
Depending on where you live do you have a hot or cold Christmas? Christmas is either very cold and snowy or mild and foggy, thus reminding us of how invaluable Rudolph is as one of Santa's staff.
Would you prefer to try the opposite weather at least just once? Yes. I'd like to see if it's possible to tinsel a palm tree.
What do you prefer in a tree? Fake or real?
Real, most years. The fragrance is magic. Though I did once have a lovely white Christmas tree. The ornaments showed up best on that little gem from the PVC forest. I would like to have a feather tree just to see how that goes.
What is your favorite Carol?
"Do you Hear What I Hear?"--but only when the sound comes out of the time capsule known as my mother's record collection.
What is your favorite Christmas Dinner?
Anything someone else cooks, but most especially a traditional New England Christmas dinner without the turkey: turnip, mashed potatoes, creamed onions, yams, candied carrots, stuffing....
Do you wear a Santa hat at Christmas? No. I don't try to sit behind his desk, either.
Have you ever seen Santa delivering gifts?
No. This game I play by the rules. However, a few years ago my daughter and I saw Rudolph hanging out in the woods while Santa was in the neighborhood. The
